Apple iPhone 4Standing Tall!

Already there have been reams and reams of paper and ink spent on the Apple iPhone 4and we honestly do not think that as far as the technical brilliance of this number one smartphone from the Cubertine technology company go, there is nothing new that we can add. Instead, here we think it would serve some purpose if we carry out an honest comparison of the the Apple iPhone 4with its arch rival, the Samsung Galaxy S2.

At the outset, we wish to make it abundantly clear here that our objective is not to do this comparative study to talk highly about one of the smartphones at the cost of the other. It is just an honest and simple attempt at figuring how the two smartphone stand up to each other and also where one comes up triumph while the other lags and vice versa.

A comparsion can be one of the ways to analyse the iPhone individually as well!

As it is pretty much the case that both the smartphones have their big pluses and relatively small minuses. Both bring their set of immense value and at the same time have set the tone for future smartphones. Both the phone devices are thus, not only hugely successful ones but at the same time trendsetters in their own rights.

Android market place

Now, for the actual comparisons. A cursory look at the specifications of the two smartphones may mislead you into believing that the Samsung smartphone is way ahead. Well, is it? Let us do the comparisons made for individual features and see for ourselves where the Apple iPhone 4stands viz a viz its South Korean rival handset.

Toucchscreen & Display

For insance, if we begin by comparing the toucchscreen and resolution, nine out of ten people (industry experts and users alike) would vouchsafe for the fact that the clarity and richness of the images and the sheer visual  magic is incomparable in the Apple iPhone 4Though it has to be acknowledged here that with the incorporation of the Super AMOLED Plus display technology. Still, it has only caught up not overtaken it, mind you.

However, here it may be said that the Samsung Galaxy S2 has a bigger screen and the effect is most certainly stunning.

The other factor is that the toucchscreen of the Apple iPhone is capable of showing data and information in several languages and characters all simultaneously. This, to the best of our knowledge is something that is not there in the Galaxy S2 smartphone handset.

Hence, here the marks certainly go to Apple iPhone 4only.

Batttery Life

Here again, the 1450 mAh battery of the iPhone may seem as the weaker of two. But here the point to be noted is that the 1650 mAh batery has to power for one the dual core processor and along with far heavier hardware be it the dual cameras or the media player, etc. Well, if you take a closer look at the talk time extended by these two batteries, you find that, by and large they are similar as well.

Here, it is actually a tie between the two smartphones.

Camera

Here, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a clear winner as you simply cannot match up a five mega pixel snapper with a eight mega pixel camera that too which is capable of 1080p high definition video recording ability. The very popular Face Time feature of the iPhone not withstanding. Even the secondary snapper of the Galaxy S2 is a good two mega pixel one.

Applications

The sheer availability of applications is something that even a eight year old kid in the UK would tell  you that Android has a lot of catching up to do to even reach what all the Apple Store has to offer leave aside overtaking it the number of apps offered.

Internet and Data Networking

This again is an area where both the phones in question seem to be running neck to neck. Really there is not much to choose between the Safari browser and the equally able and efficient Android web browser each accompanied by the plethora of standard connectivity features staring with the 3G compartibility.

Memory

The Apple iPhone 4comes in fixed memory based models. 16 GB and 32 GB to be precise. And this seems to keep most users happy. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is slightly, (repeat slightly ) ahead as besides the on board storage capacity of 16 GB, the device also makes provision for expandable space of another 32 GB.

Pricing

The prices of the two smartphones are also, by and large on similar lines. Apple has lowered the prices with the iPhone 4and has opened it for sale through standard easy priced carrier deals. Both the Apple iPhone 4as well as the Samsung Galaxy S2 are offered for free against say a £ 35 per month for 24 months monthly payment plans.

Conclusion

We have to remember a very vital point here that the Apple iPhone 4is actually a contemporary of the original flagship Samsung Galaxy S and the Galaxy S2 has come out more recently. While the next generation iPhone 5 is expected this October only.

Though it can be safely stated here that both the smartphones are as good as the other and have individually and collectively revolutionized the mobile phone industry.
